Dear Member

As we continue to comply with the Provincial and Municipal Health and Safety Orders and Guidelines, EFFECTIVE SUNDAY, OCTOBER 24th, 2021, proof of FULL vaccination will be required prior to entering our facilities, as mandated by the B.C., Health Authority. For the safety of our members and staff, all existing Covid-19 safety protocols will remain in place regarding cleaning and sanitization, maintaining a physical distance of 6′ or more, and wearing of masks while not actively exercising.

Vaccination Passport Verification:

In compliance with the Public Health Order for Vaccine Passports, customers of non-essential businesses will be required to show proof of FULL vaccination status (two doses of vaccine) along with a government issued photo ID by Sunday, October 24th.

If you currently have provided proof of only ONE vaccination (partially vaccinated), you will be required to update your member profile and provide proof of your FULL vaccination. When you enter the club, please show your Vaccination Passport to our front desk associate so they can verify and update your member profile. If you currently only have one dose, you will be required to update your vaccination status as soon as you receive your second dose (by October 24th) to gain access into any of our Gold’s Gym B.C. facilities. If you have been attending our clubs and have already provided proof of FULL vaccination, no further action will be required.

It is your choice to update your member profile so that you will not be required to show your Vaccination Passport each time you visit our facilities.  If you choose NOT to have your membership profile updated, you will be required to show your Vaccination Passport EACH TIME you visit any of our clubs to gain access.  For your privacy, once the Public Health Order for Vaccination Passports is rescinded, all records of vaccination will be completely deleted and removed from our membership database so no vaccination records will be retained on our systems.

Thank you for being such incredible members, for continuing to support us and our entire Gold’s Gym community throughout the changing Public Health Orders.  For any additional questions you may have regarding this member update, please contact membersupport@goldsgymbc.ca.

Thank You and Stay Strong!

With regards to the update on the vaccine passport, we are waiting for more information from Public Health, as we receive these updates we will keep you all informed.

We’re dedicated to providing a safe space for both members and staff. All of our existing policies will remain in place, current Club Policies can be found HERE.

Dear Valued Member,

We are excited to be moving into Phase 3 of BC’s restart plan tomorrow, July 1st 2021. There are some exciting changes and some protocols that will remain in place for your health and safety.

These adjustments are in line with the recommendations from Provincial Health. This is to ease our transition from COVID-19 Safety Plans to Communicable Disease Plans.

Changes in our protocols:

Mask Policy:

Masks will no longer be mandatory, but highly recommended for members especially when entering, leaving and moving around the facility between equipment. Staff will still be required to wear masks at all times while on shift.

Lockers:

We will now provide limited access to lockers in the changerooms for your belongings. Please use the designated lockers as we will no longer be allowing gym bags in all workout areas. There will be proper physical distancing between lockers.

Gold’s Gym Passport:

We will re-activate the Gold’s Gym Passport/Travel Pass but limited to within Canada.

Protocols that will remain in place:

Temperature Checks & Sanitization:

COVID-19 questions and temperature checks will still be performed upon entry to the facility. If you are feeling sick or suspect you may be ill, please stay at home. Please cover your mouth if you need to cough or sneeze. Hand sanitization will be required before entering the facility.

Individual Spray Bottles:

We will still provide each member with an individual spray bottle for cleaning equipment before and after use.

Physical Distancing:

Cardio equipment will be spaced out a minimum of 2.5 metres to maintain physical distancing between high-intensity equipment. We will not be allowing spotting or supersetting at this time.

Reduced Capacity:

To ensure we are not overcrowded; we will still have capacity limits in place to help maintain physical distancing. As we monitor BC’s progress, we will update our club capacities accordingly. Please check our live tracker for up to date capacity at our clubs.

Amenities Still Unavailable:

Showers, Saunas, Steam Rooms*, Hot Tub*, Swimming Pool*, Tanning* and Child Minding* will remain closed until further notice.

*where applicable

Group Exercise:

As per our update two weeks ago, our Group Exercise program will remain suspended. We are anticipating the return early fall as we redesign the program with some exciting changes. We are confident these changes will elevate your experience in each class. Stay tuned for more updates!

We will be closely monitoring the progress of the full vaccination numbers in the province and will reassess our covid policies, providing you with updates accordingly. Your health and safety continues to be our top priority!

Thank you again for your patience, understanding and commitment throughout the past year. It has been a challenging time for all of us and we greatly appreciate you, our Gold’s Gym Community for your continued support.

Yours in health,

Gold’s Gym British Columbia

Dear Valued Member,

Gold’s Gym BC has and always will make your health and safety a priority. We have exceeded workplace and local public health guidelines. Including enforcement of the mask mandate, proper physical distancing, increased spacing between equipment, reduced club capacity, use of an electrostatic disinfectant sprayer on high-touch areas and surfaces, providing members with individual use disinfectant spray to clean equipment before and after use.

Despite our significant efforts, we have received a notification that there were individuals who attended our Langley location that tested positive for COVID-19.

As a precautionary measure, and for the safety of our staff and members, we will be closing our Langley location for the next ten (10) days beginning Wednesday, May 26th and ending Saturday, June 5th.

We will reopen our facility on Sunday, June 6th at 7:00am.

This will allow us to conduct an extensive deep clean of the entire facility ensuring a safe return for our members and staff when we reopen.  For all multi-club members, you will have access to our other Gold’s Gym BC locations. We will provide a complimentary extension to all memberships for a period of 10 days – added to the end of your membership term.  For members who have scheduled personal training sessions during the closure dates, you will be contacted to reschedule your training sessions.

Members are advised to continue to follow COVID-19 guidelines. Self-monitor for symptoms, if you start to develop symptoms of COVID-19, isolate yourself from others and contact your health care provider or Local Public Health Authority. For more information please visit: Public Health Agency of Canada.

We will continue to work directly with local Public Health authorities and will provide further information and updates.  We thank you for your understanding and continued support during this time.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to membersupport@goldsgymbc.ca

Sincerely,

Gold’s Gym British Columbia

Gold’s Gym BC – Member Update

Session Update

As Covid-19 cases in B.C. remain high and with Provincial Health and Safety restrictions still in effect, we have done our best to implement changes to our workout session schedules without compromising the safety and health of our members and staff.

  • Staying open and maintaining the safest workout environment to service our members remains our highest priority.
  • Group exercise classes and certain amenities will remain suspended until further notice.
  • All safety protocols will remain in place regarding cleaning and sanitization, wearing of masks and maintaining a physical distance of 6’ or more to ensure the safety of our Members and Staff, as we comply with strict Provincial and Municipal Health and Safety Orders and Guidelines.

MEMBER AND STAFF REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL PHASES
Staff will continue to abide by Gold’s Gym Restart Plan Protocols and Guidelines regarding all safety and health precautions before, during, and after their scheduled shift(s). Members must adhere to Provincial and local Municipal Guidelines as well as Gold’s Gym British Columbia’s Code of Conduct and Club Policies (Please go to www.goldsgymbc.ca and select “CLUB PROTOCOLS” for more detailed information and to familiarize your self with our additional club policies due to Covid-19).

The following changes will be made on Monday, February 1st, 2021:

  1. Our current reservation system will remain in effect and Club Capacity limits will remain the same, based on the size of each individual club:
  2. a) University Marketplace, Vancouver = 30 members maximum per time slot
  3. b) West Broadway, Vancouver = 60 members maximum per time slot
  4. c) Port Coquitlam = 75 members maximum per time slot
  5. d) Langley = 75 members maximum per time slot
  • A reservation guarantees you a spot for that session. Members who don’t reserve will be allowed entry ONLY IF there is available space for that session. Reservations can be booked exactly seventy-two (72) hours in advance of a workout session. ONLY ONE (1) WORKOUT SESSION RESERVATION, PER MEMBER, PER DAY is permitted!
  • If you cannot make your session time, please cancel your session as soon as possible so other members can book for that time slot. Cancellation for a reserved session time has been modified to ten (10) minutes prior to the workout session start time for your convenience.
  • You will receive a 24-hour email confirmation for your reservation and a thirty (30) minute text message to confirm your attendance prior to your booked session time.

If you need to cancel your reservation, you can do so by selecting “Cancel” on your session confirmation text to avoid incurring a “NO SHOW FEE”.  The cancellation must be sent no later than 10 minutes before the start of your reserved session time.

  • If a member has a reservation, does not cancel the session and does not show up 15 minutes into the session time, the member will be considered a “NO SHOW”, be charged a $10.00 + GST fee, and the reservation time slot will be forfeited to allow other members who are waiting to take that workout session time.
  1. Member walk-ins will be permitted, but be limited to available space based on Club capacity:
  2. a) If there is available space (less than the maximum allowable for any session as specified above for the club you are attending), a member who does not have a reservation may take a spot immediately and will not be required to wait 15 minutes before being able to check-in for that session. The member MUST still make a reservation on com for contact tracing purposes.
  3. b) If the session is full (at maximum capacity), signage will indicate where walk-ins are to line up (socially distanced). If there are no available spots, the Member is permitted to wait in the approved waiting area outside of the Club to see if capacity becomes available. As Members leave the Club, waiting Members will be permitted entry on a one-in one-out basis. These Members must be checked in, register themselves on myiclubonline.com AND agree to leave the Club at the end of the Member use period, regardless of the Club entry time.
  4. c) Back-to-Back workout sessions will be permitted ONLY IF CLUB CAPACITY ALLOWS: Members are permitted to reserve ONLY ONE (1) workout session per day, however if the member would like to attend the following session and there is available space, they are welcome to join the next session if the next session is not at full capacity.  The member will still be required to exit the facility at the end of their first session and check-in again for their second session.  The member MUST register themselves on com for the second session for contact tracing purposes.  If the session is full, please reference 2b) above for the procedure to follow.
  5. Masks and Face Coverings: It is still mandatory for members to always wear their masks while in the club, including during Personal Training Sessions.  For the safety of all, we ask that all members please wear a mask and maintain a 2-metre distance from others in the facility.  Our goal is to eliminate potential exposures within our facilities.

As Covid-19 cases in the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland continue to rise, we aim to keep our members and staff as safe as possible. We will continue practicing and enforcing our Covid-19 protocols, additionally we are introducing new measures at all Gold’s Gyms locations.

Our NEW mask policy will be in effect as of Monday, November 16th, 2020.

The B.C. Health Authority has advocated that wearing a mask significantly reduces the spread and transmission of Covid-19. By complying with this new protocol, we add another layer of protection for everyone who attends our fitness clubs.

We are continuing our commitment to provide our members with the safest fitness environment possible through our current policies listed here:

1) A reservation system for booking workout sessions (for accurate contact tracing purposes)

2) Limiting the number of members per workout session (varies per club but no more than 30% of maximum occupancy loads, well below the 50% allowable)

3) Member pre-screening before entry into the club (temperature check and Covid exposure questions)

4) Providing individual spray bottles to each member for safe cleaning of equipment before and after use (eliminating the use of shared communal spray bottles)

5) Maintaining physical distancing of a minimum six (6) feet between staff and other members when in the club

6) Thorough club cleaning and disinfecting of all high touch surfaces AFTER EVERY workout session and group exercise class (including but not limited to changerooms, floors, spray bottles, weights, cardio equipment, equipment attachments, functional turf areas, etc.)

7) Staff wearing masks and gloves at all times.

8) Members will be required to wear a mask at all times in our facilities unless actively working out. This includes any movement around the facility and any time between equipment.

We are all in this together! At a time when further Provincial restrictions may be enforced, we are working to remain open for the physical and mental well-being of our members. Let us all do our part to keep our Gold’s Gym community as safe as possible during these challenging times.

Thank you in advance for understanding and adhering to the new policy.

Gold’s Gym British Columbia

Dear Member,

In compliance with the Public Health Order for Vaccine Passports EFFECTIVE MONDAY SEPTEMBER 13th clients and customers of non-essential businesses will be required to show proof of vaccination status. Throughout the pandemic, we have and will continue to abide by the Public Health Orders to keep our members and staff safe, and ultimately keep our clubs open.

What does this mean for members?

All members must show proof of their vaccination status along with a government issued photo ID as of Monday September 13th, 2021.

First dose is required until October 24th, 2021, when it will then be required to show proof of full vaccination. Once your status is verified it will remain on your account. If you only have one dose, you will be required to update you status as soon as you receive your second dose or by October 24th.

Your Check-in Process:

1. Have your proof of vaccination ready, either as a digital copy on your mobile device or your physical card

2. Present your government issued photo ID along with your vaccine status for verification

3. Verification will be saved on your members account to ensure efficient future check-ins

4. If you are only partially vaccinated you will be required to update your status no later then October 24th, 2021

A physical copy of your immunization record or vaccine card will be temporarily accepted until September 26th, 2021 at which point we will require the BC Vaccine Card. For more information on the vaccine passport and to obtain your vaccination status card visit the government of BC website.

We’re committed to providing a safe space for both members and staff. We thank you for your patience, understanding and ongoing support as we navigate these changes together.

Thank You and Stay Strong,

Gold’s Gym British Columbia

If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at membersupport@goldsgymbc.ca

Dear Valued Members of Gold’s Gym B.C.,

First and foremost, thank you for your support!  We have done everything possible to keep our clubs open, providing a clean and safe environment for you to enjoy, as your health and safety have been our top priority throughout this global pandemic.  However, today the B.C. Health Authority has announced a new mandate ordering all fitness centres to close as of December 23rd, 2021 until January 18th, 2022, in efforts to reduce the transmission of the new Covid-19 Omicron variant.

We will be open regular club hours Wednesday, December 22nd, however, in compliance with the new Health Order our Gold’s Gym B.C. locations in Langley, West Broadway, UMP, and Port Coquitlam will be temporarily closed effective Thursday, December 23rd to January 17th, 2022.  We will reopen on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022.

We have had an overwhelming number of our members express their support as well as their concerns. We know that fitness and exercise are vital to everyone, and we hope that you can remain active for the duration the closure order is in effect, as we know how beneficial exercise is for everyone’s mental and physical well-being.

During this closure period, we will be suspending all members’ dues payments.  Our payment processing partner, ABC Financial will take three (3) business days to process the holds on all membership accounts so if you do see a charge processed after December 22nd, the charge will be reversed and credited back to the method of payment that we have on file for your membership account.  The expiry dates for all memberships will be adjusted for the duration of the temporary closure so this will prevent the loss of any membership duration for members who have pre-paid their memberships in full.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this trying time. Please stay informed about what you can do to keep yourself and your families safe during these times.   For more information on the latest provincial Covid-19 related restrictions and updates, please visit https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/info/restrictions.

Please visit our website, https://goldsgymbc.ca/covid-policies, for the most recent Gold’s Gym British Columbia updates.  If you have any questions, please email us at membersupport@goldsgymbc.ca and we will answer your questions as quickly as possible.

We look forward to reopening our clubs and having our Gold’s Gym family back at our facilities as soon we are able.  Take care of yourselves over the holiday season!

Sincerely,
Gold’s Gym B.C.

Gold’s Gym BC – Member Update

Provincial Health Order

Dear Valued Gold’s Gym BC members,

In compliance with the Provincial Health order made today by Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix, we will be suspending ALL group fitness classes at all Gold’s Gym BC facilites. This includes indoor cycling, yoga, dance and all other Group Fitness classes. The order is in effect for 2 (two) weeks starting November 7, 2020 at 10pm to midnight on November 23, 2020.

We are pleased to announce that we will remain OPEN for regular Workout Sessions and Private Personal Training Sessions.

Our Covid-safety protocols will remain in place and enforced. This includes reserving time slots, pre-screening staff and members, cleaning of equipment before and after use, maintaining social distancing within our facilities and full club cleanings between each workout session.  We will also continue to monitor staff with a daily health check upon their arrival for each shift.

We also ask that you do not come to the Club for any reason if you feel unwell, are experiencing any symptoms, are awaiting results of a COVID-19 test, or have recently travelled. As an additional precaution, we strongly encourage all individuals wear a mask when circulating in common areas of the Club. Within our Clubs, masks and gloves are still mandatory for all staff.

We will work closely with the Public Health Authority to submit a revised Group Exercise Covid Safety Plan for review. Once approved we would resume delivering our Group Fitness Programming for our members. We will continue to provide member updates based on any new Public Health Authority orders or changes to orders already imposed.

We also want to say ” Thank You” to all Gold’s Gym B.C. members and staff for adhering to our covid protocols and policies since our reopening. We are incredibly proud to have members and staff who genuinely care for one another’s health and safety! Through everyone’s consistent efforts, we will continue to provide the safest fitness environment!

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this announcement, please email us at membersupport@goldsgymbc.ca. It will be our pleasure to assist you.

Thank you.

Gold’s Gym BC – Member Update

Phase 3

Dear Members

First, we want to thank you for your tremendous support from the time we reopened our facilities at the beginning of June. We appreciate your understanding and continued cooperation, complying with our Covid-19 protocols that remain in place for the safety of all members and staff. For those members who replied to our member survey, we thank you for your valuable input! We have compiled the survey responses and have taken your suggestions and feedback to heart.

Due to the increase in Covid-19 cases in B.C., we were not able to accommodate all of your recommendations, but we have done our best to implement as many as possible without compromising the safety and health of our members and staff as maintaining a safe workout environment remains our highest priority. All aspects from Phase 1 and 2 will remain in place regarding sanitization and physical distancing guidelines to ensure the safety of our Members and Staff as we follow strict Provincial and Municipal Guidelines.

MEMBER AND STAFF REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL PHASES
Staff will continue to abide by Gold’s Gym Restart Plan Protocols and Guidelines regarding all safety and health precautions before, during, and after their scheduled shift(s). Members must adhere to Provincial and local Municipal Guidelines as well as Gold’s Gym British Columbia’s Code of Conduct and Club Policies (Please go to www.goldsgymbc.ca and select “CLUB PROTOCOLS” for more detailed information and to familiarize yourself with our additional club policies due to Covid-19).

The following changes will be made on Monday, September 14th, 2020:

1) Our current reservation system will remain in effect, and Club Capacity
limits will remain the same, based on the size of each individual club:

  1.   a)  University Marketplace, Vancouver = 30 members maximum per time slot
      b)  West Broadway, Vancouver = 60 members maximum per time slot
        c)  Port Coquitlam = 75 members maximum per time slot
        d)  Langley = 75 members maximum per time slot

A reservation guarantees a spot for that session. Members who don’t reserve will be allowed entry ONLY IF there is available space for that session. Reservations can be booked exactly seventy-two (72) hours in advance of a workout session OR group exercise class session. ONLY ONE (1) WORKOUT SESSION OR CLASS RESERVATION, PER MEMBER, PER DAY is permitted! Members are NOT permitted to reserve BOTH on the same day. Members must choose one or the other, and due to capacity limitations, you cannot book a Group Fitness class session and then use the main workout facility in lieu of attending the class. If a member books both in one day, reserves more than one (1) session per day and/ or books a Group Fitness class session but instead use the main workout facility and does not attend the class, the member will be restricted from reserving ANY session for one (1) week from the date of the infraction. Once members successfully reserve a workout session, the member will receive a 24-hour email confirmation and a two (2) hour text message confirmation prior to the booked session time.

Members will still be charged ($10 + GST) if they “NO SHOW” for their booked session. If you cannot make your session time, please cancel your session as soon as possible so other members can book for that time slot. Cancellation for a reserved session time remains at a minimum two (2) hours prior to the workout session start time. If a member does not show up 15 minutes into their reserved session time and has not cancelled within the minimum two (2) hour cancellation notice period, the member will be considered a “NO SHOW”, be charged a $10 fee, and their reservation spot will be forfeited. We will allow other members who are waiting to take that spot for that session time.

2) Member walk-ins will be permitted, but be limited to available
space based on Club capacity:

  1. a) If there is available space (for example: only 55 out of 75 sessions are reserved), a member who does not have a reservation may take a spot immediately and will not be required to wait 15 minutes before being able to check-in for that session. The member can book a reservation on the spot for the session. The member MUST still make a reservation on com for contact tracing purposes.
  2. b) If the session is full, signage will indicate where walk-ins are to line up. If there are no available spots, the Member is permitted to wait in the approved waiting area outside of the Club to wait for a spot to become available. As Members leave the Club, waiting Members will be permitted access to the club on a one-in-one-out basis, as long as they intend to use the same area as the departing Member. These Members must be checked in, register themselves on com AND agree to leave the Club at the end of the Member use period, regardless of the Club entry time.
  3. c) Back-to-Back workout sessions will be permitted ONLY IF CLUB CAPACITY ALLOWS: Members are permitted to reserve ONLY ONE (1) workout or GGX class session per day (not one of each) however if the member would like to attend the following session, they are welcome to join the next session if the next session IS NOT at full capacity. The member will still be required to exit the facility at the end of their first session and repeat the check-in process again to attend the second session. The member MUST reserve the session on com for the second session for contact tracing purposes. If the session is full, please reference 2b) above and follow the procedure.

3) Masks and Face Coverings: It is not mandatory for members to wear their masks while actively engaging in rigorous exercise, including Personal Training Sessions and Group Fitness Classes, however for the safety of all, we ask that all members please wear a mask as much as possible inside the Club and maintain a 2-metre distance from others in the facility. We recommend that members carry their mask with them at all times and ask that members wear a mask when entering and exiting the Club, to and from the change room, while in the changeroom/ washroom area, while taking a tour, waiting for a class etc. Our goal is to minimize potential exposures within our facilities.

Gold’s Gym British Columbia

Monday, January 17th, 2022
To our Gold’s Gym BC Family,

We thank everyone for your patience as we try and navigate through this uncertain time with very little information being provided to our industry from Provincial Health regarding the reopening of our fitness facilities. We know many of you are anxiously waiting to come back and workout at our clubs and we are also anxiously waiting to reopen for you!

We wanted to send out this brief update letting you know we are still very active and working hard to not only get the approval to reopen, but also to have fitness centres be designated an essential service. So, in the future we won’t be faced with shutdowns, allowing fitness centres to remain open for the benefit of everyone’s mental and physical health, especially during this pandemic.

The most recent update we have received to date is the revised Order from the Provincial Health Authority, which was issued today, Monday, January 17th, 2022, which extends the Order from the original expiry of 12:01am, January 18th, 2022. The new Order has no expiry date, but we are expecting details during tomorrow’s announcement (Tuesday, January 18th, 2022) at 1:30pm to provide further clarity on this issue.

What this means is that we will NOT be reopening tomorrow, but we are still preparing to re-open our facilities on Wednesday, January 19th, 2022. We will provide final confirmation in a follow up message tomorrow, once the Provincial Health announcement has concluded.

We have done everything that Provincial Health has asked of us, followed every guideline, stipulation, regulation, and protocol. We know and sympathize with everyone about the constant state of confusion created by Provincial Health not fully communicating with us and our industry. We appreciate your continued support, understanding our situation, knowing we want to reopen safely and legally.

We will keep everyone informed as soon as we receive any new information provided by the BC Health Authority. Please expect a more extensive announcement from us tomorrow afternoon when we will be better equipped with the information provided by Provincial Health to welcome everyone back into our fitness communities!

Stay safe, stay health, and stay positive.
Thank you.

Yours in Health,
Andrew Uy
Vice-President

Dear Member

We are excited to announce some revisions that will improve your member experience. We are pleased to make the following changes while still maintaining the highest standards in keeping our Gold’s Community clean and safe:

All safety protocols will remain in place regarding cleaning and sanitization, wearing of masks and maintaining physical distance of 6’ or more to ensure the safety of our Members and Staff as we comply with strict Provincial and Municipal Health and Safety Orders and Guidelines. In addition, proof of vaccination will be required prior to entering our facilities, as mandated by the B.C., Health Authority.

EFFECTIVE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 13th:

1. Vaccination Passport Verification:

In compliance with the Public Health Order for Vaccine Passports, clients and customers of non- essential businesses will be required to show proof of vaccination status along with a government issued photo ID. First dose is required until October 24th, 2021, when it will then be required to show proof of full vaccination. Once your status is verified it will remain on your membership profile. If you only have one dose, you will be required to update you status as soon as you receive your second dose or by October 24th.

2. Temperature Checks, Covid Questions & Sanitization:

COVID-19 questions and temperature checks will NO LONGER be performed upon entry to the facility. If you are feeling sick or suspect you may be ill, please get tested. A negative test result will be required prior to using the facility.

3. Mandatory Indoor Mask Policy:

With the Indoor Mask mandate still in effect, masks must be always worn when in the facility, except while actively exercising.

4. Increased Club Capacity:

We will be increasing club capacity but remain well below the maximum 50% capacity limits set by the B.C. Health Authority. Listed below are the NEW maximum capacity limits for each of our clubs:

          a) University Marketplace, Vancouver = 50 members maximum

          b) West Broadway, Vancouver = 85 members maximum

          c) Port Coquitlam = 105 members maximum

          d)  Langley = 105 members maximum

• Members will be permitted to enter the facility immediately if there is available space

(less than the maximum allowable for the club you are attending)

• If you arrive and the club is at its maximum capacity, signage will indicate where you are to line up (socially distanced). You will be permitted to wait in the socially distanced waiting area until space becomes available. As Members leave the Club, Members waiting in line will be permitted entry on a one-out, one-in basis. Covid-19 check-in procedure and protocols will still apply.

• To avoid congestion and to maximize access for all members, there will be a Maximum Time Limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes for your workout session during Prime-Time hours, Prime-Time Hours are effective at all clubs and are between the following hours:

          a) WEEKDAYS: 6:00 am to 9:00 am and 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm

          b) WEEKENDS: 8:00 am to 11:00 am

• During non-primetime hours, there will be more leniency for longer workout sessions.

5. Individual Disinfectant Spray bottles:

In our ongoing efforts to prevent covid-19 virus transmission in our clubs, we will continue to provide individual disinfectant spray bottles to all members to enable disinfection of equipment before and after each use.

6. Spotting and Super Setting Permitted:

We will allow members to “Spot” other members, but masks must be worn by both participants (the member performing the exercise and the spotter) while spotting.  When super setting, the member must disinfect the equipment in between each set performed so if another member uses the same equipment in between the super sets, it has been properly sanitized.

EFFECTIVE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th:

AMENITY RE-OPENING UPDATE:

The wait is over!  We are excited to re-opening the amenities listed below:

1) GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES (where applicable): Registration for classes will be required through our Gold’s Gym BC app. A full description of classes, instructors and class times will be provided at each location where group classes are offered.

2)  Pool/ Hot Tub/ Steam Rooms/ Tanning Beds (Langley): Open (limited capacity)
3)  Shower Facilities: Open at all locations (limited capacity)

4)  Saunas (where applicable): Open where applicable (limited capacity)

5)  Lockers: Open at all locations

The amenities listed below will remain unavailable until further notice.

1)  Kid’s Club (where applicable)

For the safety of our members and staff, Kid’s Club will not be re-opening at this time as the vaccine cannot be administered to children under the age of 12 years old. This results in a potential higher risk of virus transmission and possible closure of our facilities, should an outbreak occur.

Thank you for being such incredible members, for continuing to support us and our entire Gold’s Gym community throughout these continual changes!  For any questions you may have regarding this member update, please contact membersupport@goldsgymbc.ca.

Thank You and Stay Strong!

On Monday, July 06, 2020, the following changes will take effect:

3)  Increased capacity for each workout time slot, based on overall facility size:

GOLD’S GYM UNIVERSITY MARKETPLACE RE-OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT:

It had now been three (3) weeks since we reopened our doors at Gold’s Gym West Broadway and over two (2) weeks since we opened Gold’s Gym Port Coquitlam and Gold’s Gym Langley.  We are proud to announce the re-opening date for Gold’s Gym University Marketplace on Monday, July 06, 2020!  Reservations for workout sessions can be accessed on www,myiclubonline.com seventy-two (72) hours in advance of each workout session time.

If you are a Gold’s Gym British Columbia University Marketplace Vancouver member, we will reactivate billing of your membership dues on Monday, July 6th, 2020. We understand that despite our efforts to create a safe fitness environment for our Members, there may be some of you who are still not prepared to return to our fitness centre due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation. To address this concern, we have made available a complimentary hold up to August 31st, 2020 for University Marketplace Members who wish to keep their memberships inactive at this time. Continuing to keep your membership on hold will defer your membership dues and restrict entry into our clubs, until your membership billing is re-activated. Should you wish to place your membership on hold until August 31st, 2020, please send an email to membersupport@goldsgymbc.ca and in the subject line include the word “HOLD”.  If we do not receive an email, your membership payments will be re-activated as stated above. Due to the increased amount of email requests, please allow use 3-5 days to respond.  Your hold will be honored on the date we received your email request.

On September 1st, 2020, or once you reactivate your membership, whichever occurs first, your membership dues will start billing and you will regain access and use of our fitness facilities.  Keep in mind your membership contract will be extended by the equal amount of time your membership remained on hold.

We will reactivate billing of your membership dues on the date your home club reopens. We understand that despite our efforts to create a safe fitness environment for our Members, there may be some of you who are not prepared to return to our fitness centres due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation. To address this concern, we have made available a complimentary hold for up to three (3) months for Members who wish to keep their memberships inactive at this time. Continuing to keep your membership on hold will defer your membership dues and entry into our clubs will be restricted until you re-activate your membership.
Once you reactivate your membership, or after three (3) months have elapsed, whichever occurs first, your membership dues will recommence billing and you will regain access and use of our fitness facilities.  Keep in mind your membership contract will be extended by the equal amount of time your membership remained on hold. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact membersupport@goldsgymbc.ca.
We are excited to begin welcoming you back to our Clubs!  We are working hard to ensure that Gold’s Gym British Columbia remains a safe and trusted place for you to enjoy!  We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work through these new protocols to help ensure everyone’s safety and comfort. We will continue to provide email and video updates as soon as any new developments or changes are made.
